Prof. Dr. Knut Hildebrand

Prof. Dr. Knut Hildebrand ist ein Befürworter der betriebswirtschaftlichen IT-Beratung – Projekte müssen sich rechnen! Dem abgeschlossenen Studium der Volkswirtschaftslehre und Angewandten Informatik folgte die Promotion zum Dr. rer. pol. in Betriebswirtschaftslehre an der Universität Mannheim. Mehrere Jahre Tätigkeit als Unternehmensberater für Warenwirtschaftssysteme und SAP-Software.

Prof. Dr. Knut Hildebrand is an advocate of business-driven IT consulting – projects have to pay off! After completing his studies in economics and applied computer science, he earned his doctorate (Dr. rer. pol.) in business administration at the University of Mannheim. This was followed by several years as a management consultant for merchandise management systems and SAP software.

1993 bis 1995 Lehrstuhlvertretung an der Universität Münster. 1996 Ruf auf die Professur für BWL und Wirtschaftsinformatik an der Hochschule für Wirtschaft in Ludwigshafen/Rhein. Von 2001 bis 2010 lehrte er Betriebliche Informationsverarbeitung im Fachbereich Wirtschaft an der Hochschule Darmstadt. Seit dem Wintersemester 2010 bis 2023 forschte und lehrte er Information Management und Logistik an der Hochschule Weihenstephan (University of Applied Sciences) im Studiengang Management erneuerbarer Energien. Kontinuierliche hochschuldidaktische Fortbildung: Zertifikat Hochschullehre Bayern.

From 1993 to 1995 he held a deputy professorship at the University of Münster. In 1996 he was appointed Professor of Business Administration and Information Systems at the University of Applied Sciences in Ludwigshafen am Rhein. From 2001 to 2010 he taught Business Information Processing in the Faculty of Economics at Darmstadt University of Applied Sciences. From the winter semester 2010 until 2023 he researched and taught Information Management and Logistics at Weihenstephan-Triesdorf University of Applied Sciences in the degree programme Management of Renewable Energies. Continuous further training in higher-education didactics: Certificate in University Teaching Bavaria.

Prof. Hildebrand ist seit über 40 Jahren in der betrieblichen IT tätig, u.a. als zertifizierter Berater für SAP-Software (SD, MM, SCM) und in der Beratung von Schulungsprojekten. Er implementierte in vielen Projekten erfolgreich SAP^® R/3^® und ist Autor/Herausgeber von mehr als 30 Büchern zu IT-Themen, Management-Trainer und Berater. Wissenschaftlich u.a. tätig in der Deutschen Gesellschaft für Informations- und Datenqualität (DGIQ).

Prof. Hildebrand has worked in corporate IT for more than 40 years, among others as a certified consultant for SAP software (SD, MM, SCM) and in the consulting of training projects. He has successfully implemented SAP^® R/3^® in many projects and is the author/editor of more than 30 books on IT topics, a management trainer and consultant. He is active in research, among others in the German Society for Information and Data Quality (DGIQ).
